Inhis acceptance speech BO said –
“You elected us to focus on your jobs, notours. And in the coming weeks andmonths, I am looking forward to reaching out and working with leaders of bothparties to meet the challenges we can only solve together: reducing ourdeficit, reforming our Tax Code, fixing our immigration system, freeingourselves from foreign oil. We’ve got more work to do.”
Letus hope that the President was telling the truth. And let us hope that when he says “reforming our Tax Code” he means realsubstantive reform.
Theproblem is that, even if Obama is truly sincere about “reaching out and working with leaders of both parties”, and I haveno reason to doubt he is, the leaders of both parties may not be as ready to“reach out” and work together.
Theleaders of both parties that the President speaks about are the same idiots who havebeen leading the worst and most incompetent and ineffective Congress in history for the pastfour years. And, with most incumbentsbeing re-elected, there is no indication that Congress will not continue to beincompetent and ineffective, and that the idiots on Capitol Hill will notcontinue to be incapable of compromise or independent thought.
Iwish you luck, Mr. President. But Iexpect you already know that you will need lots of it when dealing with theidiots in Congress.
